This rock sugar (made from jaggery out of sugar cane) is made with great craftsmanship according to an age-old tradition. Rock sugar is often used in Indian, Sri Lankan and Pakistani cuisine and is recommended, among other things, for sweetening drinks, desserts, herbal teas and herbal preparations.
Rock sugar from jaggery is more than just an ordinary sweetener: this sugar is not only suitable for the kitchen, but also for the home pharmacy! The importance of candy sugar is highly praised in the ancient Vedic scriptures, because it allows many herbs and ayurvedic tea blends to fully develop their aroma and character. It serves as a means of transport (vahana) when using ayurvedic herbs. Rock sugar, according to Ayurveda, helps to reduce the fire element 'Pitta' and to harmonize the doshas. Sweet has a calming effect and can, for example, calm the nervous energy of Vata.

For example, rock sugar from jaggery still contains many important minerals and vitamins, and a good ayurvedic meal contains all six flavours (sweet, salty, sour, pungent, bitter and astringent).
